Fata EPC/Ansaldo Energia completed the final phase of the construction of the Avon Peaking Power, a gas turbine open cycle power plant for the production of electric energy located near Durban. The project has been realized by an international consortium led by GDF Suez and including, besides the Italian companies, the South African Legend Power Solutions, the Japanese Mistui & Co, as well as other local partners. Realized in the framework of the Independent Power Producer programme, the project was launched in 2013, with the signing of the contract between the consortium and Eskom. For the conclusion of the works, the Ambassador of Italy to South Africa, Mr Pietro Giovanni Donnici, visited the plant, accompanied by the Consul General in Johannesburg, Mr Marco Petacco, and by representatives of the companies.
